The 2010 Ride Around the World Tour

American Liberty Adventure
Welcome to McHenry County IL H.O.G.'s international event The 2010, "American Liberty Adventure" Tour. Back by popular demand, the McH.O.G. 2010 World Tour explores the origins of the USA. After the overwhelming success of last year’s Ride-Around-the-World-Tour, "Run to the Heartland", McH.O.G. Members are set to embark on a nostalgic, season-long ride throughout the USA, to the cradle of the Revolutionary War, Upstate New York and New England. This years’ World Tour will feature (5) distinct types of riding fun. “Destination”, “Scouting Party”, “Paul Revere”, “Minutemen” and “Road Trips” rides will fill our 2010 season’s calendar, along with two season long running games; Early Americana Virtual Tour and Bike Bingo. So grab your tri-point hat and an ale while I tell you a little bit about each ride type and about our new Virtual Tour game.
“Destination” Rides -
Rides that end at the destination. You will be riding to a specific place or event somehow related to Early Americana trivia. In the past RC’s have led rides to restaurants, the zoo, sporting events, museums, parks, musical events, a jellybean factory, parades and memorials, festivals, farmer’s markets, etc.
“Scouting Party" Rides-
These are rides that originate from the Dealer and then return to the same locale, in other words - a round trip. The emphasis will be placed on a rural route, taking in a lot of scenery like: lakes, rivers, streams, Rustic Roads, Scenic Byways, scenic overlooks, etc. These rides may also include an interesting destination somewhere along the way. A ride of 3-5 hours or more.
“Paul Revere” Rides-
These are full day “endurance rides of 300 miles or more. Award mileage is based on your participation on each “Paul Revere” ride. With a special Road Warrior Award for participating in all the Chapter sponsored “Paul Revere” rides.
"Minuteman" Rides-
These are spur-of-the-moment rides. Maybe a nice restaurant, bike night somewhere, great weather too good to pass up are all perfect excuses for a Minuteman. There are only a few so far, but expect more on short notice (check the hotline).
Overnight “Road Trips”-
Rides which are overnight, out n’ about into the boonies”, as they say in the USA. McHenry Co IL H.O.G. is the best touring Chapter in Illinois and we have a full calendar of great overnighters planned for next season. Moreover We are hosting an 11-day long “Spring Expedition" in June. The route will take us through New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. It's a American Liberty Adventure!
The Virtual Tour- Keep track of each Early Americana items physically visited on our 2010 Chapter Rides in the back of your passport. Scoring is simple; each item counts one tick mark. Visit once, or a hundred times. It’s all good. The one with the most ticks wins!
A Biker Bingo Game, located in the back of your passport, will acknowledge your participation or volunteering in a wide variety of Chapter/Dealer events. Members will be filling in their game squares by attending Chapter General Meetings, Safety Meetings, other miscellaneous Chapter rides and events and for volunteering with the Chapter’s Heart Dance, Little Angels, Dealer Demo rides and events, etc. As one’s game card fills-in, you will earn bonus miles towards year-end prizes and store credits. We hope to see everyone out n’about for it is going be the best season ever at McHenry Co IL H.O.G.-don’t miss out on the fun!
